LONDON — A report released on Tuesday on accusations of widespread sexual abuse in the northern England city of Rotherham found that about 1,400 minors — some as young as 11 years old — were beaten, raped and trafficked from 1997 to 2013 as the local authorities ignored a series of red flags.
Some children were doused in gasoline and threatened with being set on fire if they reported their abusers, the report said, and others were forced to watch rapes and threatened with the same fate. In more than a third of the cases, the victims appear to have been known to child protection agencies, but the police and local government officials failed to act.

The report found: "Several staff described their nervousness about identifying the ethnic origins of perpetrators for fear of being thought as racist; others remembered clear direction from their managers not to do so."
Failures by those charged with protecting children happened despite three reports between 2002 and 2006 which both the council and police were aware of, and "which could not have been clearer in the description of the situation in Rotherham".

The city's government made the inquiry's report available on its website, revealing at least 1,400 cases of abuse between 1997 and 2013-a conservative time estimate-which included gang rape and death threats.
Currently, special investigators are handling 51 cases and other teams are also involved in looking into other additional cases.
"There were examples of children who had been doused in petrol and threatened with being set alight, threatened with guns, made to witness brutally violent rapes and threatened they would be next if they told anyone," the report says.
"Girls as young as 11 were raped by large numbers of male perpetrators," the inquiry says.
The report identifies that politicians, social services and police were totally unable or unwilling to stop these acts committed by Rotherham's Muslim population.

So why did the judge "question whether it was a cultural problem"?
Because morally judging cultures (except Christian, Israeli and American cultures) is forbidden by the left. Indeed not judging non-Western cultures is the very definition of "multiculturalism."
And finally, from the same report: Mohammed Shafiq, chief executive of Muslim organization the Ramadhan Foundation, "to suggest that this is somehow ingrained in the community is deeply offensive."
"Offensive?" But what, Mr. Shafiq, if it's true?
The answer is clear and important. For the multicultural left and the victim-status groups it defends -- and for the millions of young people the Left has indoctrinated at schools and universities -- whether something is true is not what matters. What matters is whether it can be deemed offensive by the left.
Some 1,400 girls were raped by gangs of men -- "[While one girl was being raped] the rest of the men, all in their 20s, stood over her, cheering and jeering, and blinding her with the flash of their cameras" -- thanks to leftism's morality-denying doctrine of multiculturalism.
This is all but one more example of the most important moral rule since the beginning of the 20th century: Almost everything the left touches is either damaged or ruined.

A shocking report released by an independent commission in the UK found that at least 1,400 minors in the town of Rotherham – some as young as 11 – were beaten, raped, and trafficked over a 16-year period by men of Pakistani Muslim heritage.
The vast majority of the victims were young white girls. Some officials in the town turned a blind eye to the sexual abuse, believing social workers were exaggerating the claims, while others worried about being labeled as racist if they spoke out, according to the New York Times.
The report accused officials of ignoring “a politically inconvenient truth” about men of Pakistani heritage grooming vulnerable white girls for sex. The report chronicled the period between 1997 and 2013.
